Chromebook Information for ELA in 212
Dear students and families:
There have been some concerns around Chromebook use in classes, specifically how much and how often. In ELA, students will be using them primarily to type and and research. Last week, students used them for two class periods in order to type their essays and revise them. Allotting class time for typing and revising should hopefully cut down on some at home use, while also allowing students to get help with the process.
I have implemented a stoplight approach to Chromebook use that is also noted on calendars:
Red: No Chromebook use
Yellow: Some Chromebook use but not at the start of the class
Green: Chromebook use, beginning at the start of class
This way students and hopefully families are aware of how much tech use is occurring in each ELA class.
Thanks,
Ms. Picard
